Thousands gather in protest at Incinerator plans

2nd August 2008

Thousands took to the country roads around Glenavy and Crumlin this weekend to publicly demonstrate their full and united opposition to Rose Energy plans to build a huge industrial Incinerator in such a beautiful and scenic setting.

The following are videos and images taken from the event and they clearly show :-

- country roads incapableĀ of taking heavy lorry traffic every 15 minutes throughout the day
- an Area Of High Scenic Value and Lough Neagh RAMSAR site
- an entire communities opposition to this proposal

Roads filled with people angry at Rose Energys
failure to consult with them.

The crowds continue to make their way to the field
facing the green field site which Rose Energy have
only recently purchased and well before their
planning application had been submitted.
